GENDER EQUALITY, OR GENDER SENSITIVITY

The gesture of chivalry, as we know, dates back from the Medieval Ages where men practiced becoming gentlemen. They knelt and gave flowers, opened the doors of buildings and carriages, pulled the chairs back, and sang serenades for the ladies who have caught their sight and their heart. This has been observed for centuries, by knights and paupers alike. Even in the today’s` setting, it never went out of fashion. As a matter of fact, this still gives the giggles and the feeling of importance in the minds of the modern ladies.
Moving farther back in history during the Biblical times, and even in the present times in some countries, the female gender of the human race was never given that importance. Women are more of a commodity rather than a human in the society’s perspective. They were seen as the bargaining chip, a pleasure glove, and worst, treated in a sub-humane manner.
